Effenco offers a unique hydraulic hybrid system called HEADTM (Hydraulic Equipment Assisting Device). The particularity of the system is that rather than only using the energy recovered during braking to launch the truck, the HEADTM system uses the stored energy to assist the engine when it is the least efficient: at idle while driving auxiliary equipment through a PTO. Thus, when the truck stops and the automated arm is deployed or the compaction cycle activated, the HEADTM system reduces the load on the engine. This results in fuel savings and reduction of harmful emissions.
